I Heart Faces~Yellow

Today we took a field trip to the fire station.  What a fantastic day!  I cannot say enough about how wonderful the firefighters were with the kids.  My class of first graders tie-dyed yellow t-shirts for the trip, so it was easy for me to find a yellow shot.  They look so great together.  They like to be called the "Mellow Yellows".  I'm not so sure about the mellow part.

A Slice of Life

The photo challenge at I Heart Faces this week is a slice of life.  This is a toughie for me because all of my photos are a slice of life.  I keep going back to this one of my kiddos "cooking" on the kitchen floor.  I have always loved this photo because it shows a typical day at our house; kids in their skivvies, cupboards emptied out, play.  You just never know what they are going to do next!

Anything but a face

So the challenge at I Heart Faces this week is "anything but a face".  I have many baby feet, ears, nose, eyes, belly, etc. photos but I was wondering what else I might have to fit the bill. This is a photo of my son's hand drawing on his 100th day of school.  I happened to be there because I am his teacher (not at home but at our public school...I'm the only first grade teacher so the poor kid had not choice!).  Anyway I love that he is a lefty like his mom and dad.  I love that I get to see him interact with his friends daily.  I am trying to savor every moment as his teacher, yet I know that I am too hard on him.  I don't want anyone to think that he is getting special treatment.  Anyway, check out more body parts at I Heart Faces.

Don't you wonder what a child is thinking?  They are surrounded by things to ponder, discoveries to make...it is their only job.  The most important job.  Almost makes you jealous, doesn't it?

Winter Wonderland--IHF Challenge

Kids just can't seem to eat enough snow.  Meredith had her fill on our annual Christmas tree hunt.  You can see the snowflakes falling in the background. You can almost make out their fascinating formations on her mittens.  Taking photos of snowflakes (like Snowflake Bentley) is on my list of things to try...someday.  Check out more Winter Wonderland pictures at I Heart Faces.

I Heart Faces--Scenic B&W

Each fall we trek to this same rock that overlooks the valley.  I love the variations in the fields, the ripe grass, the badlands.  Even more I like to see how much the kids have grown and changed.  Check out more BandW photos at I Heart Faces.
